Politics Sleep

Odilia Rivera Santos

today, i will be pure frivolity and light. I will not read any more stories about the Lawrence Welk escapees running for senate or worry about organ theft in third world countries - people waking up in makeshift car mechanic operating rooms with fresh stitches.

today, i live the life of a simpleton
to rest my mind and release myself of any obligation
to save or repair and pleasing someone may
be completely out of the question

today, i am freshly manicured and free of expectation
and no demand is too loud to ignore

peace out
